Ellen Marie Thomas, 67, of Luray, passed away in her home amongst loved ones on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
She was born on May 4, 1959, in California and was a daughter of the late Gerald Duane Thomas and Carolyn Elizabeth Magarrell Thomas.
Ellen was a loving and caring woman, who loved to cook, sew, garden, travel, and to be with family. She was known for her quick wit, and great sense of humor at all social gatherings.
Ellen is survived by her husband, Richard Pumphrey of VA; two sons, Ryan Pumphrey of VA, and Richard Pumphrey of MD; a daughter, Alicia Mabe of VA; a stepson, Robert Pumphrey of TN; two stepdaughters, Stacey Castro and Jennifer Miller, both of TN; two sisters, Nancy Murphy and Barbara Smith, both of AZ; a brother, Gary Thomas of AZ; her grandchildren, Angelina, Sean, Ryleigh, Hunter, Kolton, Aidan, Wyatt and Alayah “Bitty,” and seven step grandchildren.
Services will be planned for a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, Va.
