Extension office offers free testing May 30 for pressure canning gauges

STANLEY — Get ready for canning season by having your dial pressure canner gauge tested. It is recommended that dial gauges should be tested yearly for accuracy.

Weighted gauges maintain their accuracy indefinitely and do not need to be tested.

Those who wish to have their gauges tested should bring the pressure lid with gauge, to the Virginia Cooperative Extension Page County Office 215 West Main Street Suite C, Stanley VA 22851 on Thursday, May 30 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Gauges will be tested at no cost.

Virginia Cooperative Extension is a partnership of Virginia Tech, Virginia State University, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and local governments.
