April 22, 1965 — Charles Fake, owner of Browns and Pickwick restaurants, in Luray, has purchased Brookside on U.S. 211 from Mrs. Ollie Shenk.
The business will be operated by Brookside Incorporated, recently chartered under the laws of Virginia.
The transaction includes the restaurant, all of the cottages, and Mrs. Shenk’s residence, where she will continue to live until her new home is built later this year.
During the travel season these three eating places will employ between 60 and 70 persons.
