First woman elected to board of supervisors

November 5, 1987 — Page County gained its first woman member of the board of supervisors and lost a 20-year veteran in Tuesday voting.

Nora Belle Comer, Republican newcomer, defeated David Slye for the Election District 1 seat on the county board. The vote was 956-526.

In Election District 5, Republican incumbent Roy W. Comer, who was seeking a sixth term as supervisor, was ousted by Democratic newcomer, Robert P. Good. The vote was 738-566.
