Age 90, Shenandoah, Va.
Frank Calvin Comer, 90, of Shenandoah, Va passed away Monday, August 3, 2026 at his home. He was born March 6, 1936 in Shenandoah and was the son of the late Homer Wilson Comer and Leda May Turner Comer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Lee Comer, brothers, Jesse James Comer, Matthew Oliver Comer; sister, Frances “Katie” Comer Ross; his daughters-in-law, Tracey Kay Comer and Elaine Comer.
Frank worked for Sullivan Mechanical as a Machinist for many years. He was a military veteran serving our country in the United States Army. He attended Shenandoah Assembly of God. He loved the Lord, church and studying his bible. He always said the best prayers. Frank loved fishing with his grandchildren, antique shopping with his wife and going on family picnics on the mountain and would always bring his famous homemade lemonade. He enjoyed being with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him; especially his special visitor Nancy Lewis, his checker partner.
Frank is survived by his children, Keith Comer, Cheryl Triggs and husband, Tommy, Frank L. Comer and wife, Barbara, Tammy Samuels and husband, Nelson; brother, Tony Wilson Comer; grandchildren, Jeff Kibler, Wendy Shank, Tanya McInturff, Dustin Triggs, Quentin Comer, Madison Comer, Lacey Samuels; great-grandchildren, Abigail McInturff, Jackson McInturff, Skylar Comer, Reese Comer and Luka Vilalobos; numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m., Friday, August 14, 2026 at Shenandoah Assembly of God with Pastor Carter Dean officiating. Burial to follow at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Shenandoah.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, August 13, 2026 at the church.
The family will receive friends anytime at the home of Tammy Samuels.
Arrangements are being handled by the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton, Va.
