Free meals available for all children, applications here

School lunches

~ Nov. 18 press release issued by Page County Public Schools

Effective immediately, Page County Public Schools (PCPS) will be serving meals at no charge to all children 18 and under.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has approved waivers for local school divisions and other federal meal program sponsors to implement the Summer Food Service Program and At-Risk portion of the Child and Adult Care Food Program to provide meals to all children in the community (no matter if the child is enrolled in PCPS) free of charge through June 30, 2021. The waivers support access to nutritious meals while minimizing exposure to COVID-19.

For students enrolled in PCPS, the new school year requires a new meal application. Although school meals will be provided free to all children, other school funding depends on completed meal applications.

A new meal application should be completed if you have not already been notified that your student is approved for free meals, either by letter mailed to your home address or your child is enrolled in elementary school.

All PCPS students enrolled in elementary school are automatically eligible for free meals during the school year.

It is important to submit a completed meal application as soon as possible. Only one meal application is needed for each household.

Applications are available online at https://www.lunchapplication.com/

Meals are available to all children including those learning in-person or virtually and regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.
