NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND
INTENTION TO VACATE PUBLIC
RIGHT-OF-WAY BY LURAY TOWN COUNCIL

NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to Virginia Code § 15.2-2006, as amended, that the Luray Town Council shall hold a public hearing on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in the Luray Town Council Chambers located at 45 East Main Street in the Town of Luray, Virginia.

Public comment may also be submitted until 12:00 P.M. on September 14, 2026, through any of the following means: Email: bchrisman@townofluray.com; Mail: Luray Town Manager, Post Office Box 629, Luray, Virginia, 22835; Hand delivery: Place in the exterior DROP BOX in the alcove located at the front of the Town’s offices facing Main Street; or Phone: (540)743-5511. All comments must include the commentor’s name and address to be read aloud at the hearing. The hearing may be viewed live online through the Livestream Meetings link at townofluray.com. All normal Rules of Procedure will be followed.

The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comments on the following:

A request by the applicant, Alice A. Gray, to vacate a public right-of-way that lies between the parcels located 94 Rosser Drive (Tax Map No. 42A4-5-2) and 96 Rosser Drive (Tax Map No. 42A4-5-1). The portion of the right-of-way that is the subject of request runs from Rosser Drive between the two parcels and then extends to the parcels’ rear boundary line.

If the request is granted, the Town will divest any current or future public interest in the right-of- way other than the right of access for public utilities. All interested persons may appear and present their views at the public hearing.

Copies of the request and map displaying the areas requested to be vacated are available at the Town of Luray’s Office, 45 East Main Street, Luray, Virginia. These items may be viewed between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday – Friday, and may also be found online at the Town’s website www.townofluray.com.
