Hilliard named MVP of 12U state tournament

SHENANDOAH, July 8 — A special performance during the Virginia Babe Ruth 12U state softball tournament held July 1-8 at Veterans Memorial Fields in Shenandoah earned local all star Avery Hilliard Most Valuable Player honors. The 12U all stars from the Shenandoah Recreation League dominated the five-team field in the state tournament by outscoring them 64-0 over four games.
