I have been a lifelong Republican and an evangelical church member for almost four decades. I have spent my life working at home, raising children, and being employed, in addition to volunteering in schools and at church. I have been busy, too busy.
I haven’t been paying attention to the gradual shift from a functioning GOP, to one that is now embracing and promoting far-right agendas. I have been doing my best as a wife, mother, and citizen. I assumed those in the Republican Party were working towards the same values I held.
Our family historically wasn’t “political”, giving to or campaigning for any candidate or party. Although, as a Pro-Life Christian, I have always felt duty-bound to vote Republican, primarily due to the former GOP’s stance on abortion. I was a one-issue voter, ignoring many other important concerns.
Watching the footage, then the subsequent hearings related to the January 6th assault on the Capitol, started me on a journey towards paying attention to culture, faith, and politics. Before that time, I received little news. Now, I’m consuming as many good news sources as I can. It is documented that as much as 80 percent of the white evangelical church voted for Trump in the last two elections.
Sadly, that was me as well.
I can no longer, in good faith, overlook the extremists’ character and agendas by voting for the current far-right controlled GOP candidates. I will be voting for sane, centrists like Ken Mitchell, who’s currently running for Congress.

Beth Clatterbuck. I think you’ve been well propagandized by the left. Your concerns. Sadly for the leftists, Trump got the GOP to change its platform away from federal power, to a more democratic way for women to kill their unwanted kid in whatever individual state.
The J6 Commission is guilty of evidence tampering, but we’ll get to that in due time.
Thankfully, one has to have sex in order to have children, too bad for you and other GQP men…I guess you can’t miss what you’ve never had.
“Barry Lyndon”. Hahahahahahaha. Don’t use yourself to judge others by.
By the way “Lyndon”. Your comment about me contains demonstrably false accusations stated as fact and not as opinions. I’ll give you a chance to retract.
