Veterinary Assistant

Mill Creek Veterinary Practice is a locally-owned, home-town veterinary practice rooted in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. As a new practice seeking to build a tradition of quality veterinary care and trusted client service, we are pursuing team members who are excited about the proposition of helping shape our vision and seeing our teamwork come to fruition.

We are looking for a dependable, compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our patient-care team. The ideal candidate enjoys working with animals and people, communicates clearly, and is comfortable supporting veterinarians and technicians in a busy clinical setting.

Responsibilities include: assisting with animal restraint and exams, preparing exam rooms, cleaning and sterilizing equipment, maintaining patient records, assisting with patient care, filling prescriptions, providing basic client support, and helping keep the clinic organized and welcoming.

Qualifications: prior veterinary or animal-care experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate. Applicants should be reliable, detail-oriented, able to lift and handle pets safely, and available to work scheduled weekday shifts with occasional Saturdays as needed. Consideration will be given to applicants with desire to assist with both large and small animals, though this is not a required prerequisite for application. Full-time or part-time schedules may be available. Pay grade is dependent upon experience and qualifications, with an anticipated pay range of 14 to 20 dollars per hour. Benefits are available and negotiable.
