Lennis Virginia Long Atkins, 86, of Luray, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Skyview Springs Nursing and Rehab in Luray.
She was born on March 21, 1940, in Luray and was a daughter of the late William Edgar Long and Bertha Virginia Comer Long.
On November 1, 1958, she married William Albert Atkins, who died on January 11, 2012.
Lennis is survived by two sons, Daniel Atkins and William E. Atkins, both of Luray; two brothers, Glenn Long of Luray, and Nicholas Long of Stanley; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, William “Jackie” Long and Thomas Long; and a sister, Anna Lou Payne.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 31, at the Bradley Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, at the funeral home by Pastor Leroy Hulvey. Burial will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery in Luray.
