Age 77, Rileyville, Va.
Lewis Everett “J.R.” Alger Jr., 77, of Rileyville, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024.
He was born on December 7, 1946, in Rileyville and was a son of the late Lewis Everett Alger and Lola Mable Riley Alger.
J.R. was a member of the Rileyville Gospel Church.
On August 23, 1978, he married Donna Mckenzie Alger, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Danny Duncan, and Billy Miller and wife Roxanne, all of Rileyville; two brothers Bobby and Joseph “Joe” Alger, both of Rileyville; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Albert William Alger; a sister, Lola “Sissy” Pritchett; and a granddaughter, Danielle Duncan.
Services are planned for a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by The Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, Va.
