Age 85, Luray, Va.
Louis Simon “Mike” Cumberland Jr., 85, of Luray, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024, at Winchester Medical Center.
He was born on July 12, 1938, in Washington, D.C., and was a son of the late Louis Simon Cumberland Sr. and Catherine Herrity Cumberland.
Mike worked as an elevator mechanic for Elevator Constructors Local 10, retiring with 40 years of service. He was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Luray.
He is survived by two sons, Kevin Cumberland of Manassas, and Michael Cumberland of Elkton; two daughters, Lisa Zook of Culpeper, and Mary Harlow of Jasper, FL; a brother, Frank “Jimmy” Cumberland of Kentucky; a sister-in-law, Holly Cumberland of Alexandria; his fiancée, Joyce Lam of Luray; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, William Cumberland.
Mass will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20, at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church by Father Edwin Perez. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 21, at National Memorial Park in Falls Church.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, February 19, at the Bradley Funeral Home.
