June 26, 1908 — Mad dogs running amuck on our streets caused considerable commotion in Luray this (Wednesday) morning. Several are said to have been bitten; others were pursued by men and boys up and down back alleys, across gardens, through fields out into the woods in various directions from town. A few have been killed, others shot at, some chained, some muzzled, and others under strict surveillance.
