May 28, 1987 — The process, they say, never ends. The ceaseless seasonal cycles always provide some element that gnaws at the foundation of Skyline Drive’s serpentine wall — built originally more than 50 years ago by Civilian Conservation Corps men.
A crew of stone masons from Espina Stone Co. of Fairfax, supervised by Jose Caradonia, took advantage of recent warm weather to gain headway in restoring the Drive’s weathered wall.
