Michael L. Comer, 67, of Colonial Beach, Va. passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 9, 2022.
Michael was born December 6, 1954, in Arlington, Va., the son of Franklin and Hazel Comer. Michael is survived by his brother David Comer, sisters Diane Hines Lambert and Joyce Murray a niece and several nephews. He is preceded by his wife Nanette Wolfe Comer, his parents and his brother Larry Comer.
Michael graduated from Yorktown High School, where he studied electronics and assisted in starting a radio and television station. He continued studies in broadcast engineering and operations at Northern Virginia Community College. Michael enlisted in the Army and trained in satellite tracking and communications.
After his service, Michael owned several businesses: Satellite TV video, cellular phone, and a cruise travel agency. Michael also worked part-time as a disc jockey for a radio station in Luray, Va. In retirement, Michael worked as a school bus driver for Westmoreland County Public Schools.
Michael founded The Hard Rock Cafe Fan Club in 1981 and is known by this community as Uncle Hard Rock.
Arrangements were handled by the Storke Funeral Home in Colonial Beach, Va.
