Michael Thomas Myers, 70, of New Market, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at the Life Care Center of New Market.
He was born on August 20, 1953, in Harrisonburg and was the son of Vivian Minnick Myers of New Market and the late Richard “Nappie” Myers.
Michael graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School, Madison College and J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College with a major in Culinary Arts. He enjoyed cooking.
After college, he moved to Richmond and was employed by Virginia Farm Bureau. His hobby was scale model American Flyer trains.
Michael was a member of the Manor Memorial United Methodist Church in New Market, where he volunteered at the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry.
He was preceded in death by his father and his sister, Gwen.
In addition to his mother, Michael is survived by a special friend, Yvonne Brown of Richmond; and a number of cousins and friends.
The Rev. Stephen Creech will conduct a graveside service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, at Emmanuel Cemetery in New Market.
