Thomas Bernard Wiatrowski, 83, of Luray, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Page Memorial Hospital.

He was born on April 30, 1940, in Luray and was a son of the late Bernard Wiatrowski Jr. and Evelyn Mae Sampsell Wiatrowski.

Thomas was a union carpenter working on job sites in Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C., including portions of Dulles International Airport and the Mayflower Hotel. Later, he became a contractor and home builder in Page County. 

He was a member of the undefeated 1958 Luray Bulldogs football team.

He entered the U.S. Army in 1960 and served in West Germany. He reached the rank of Specialist (E-4) by the time he was honorably discharged in 1962.

On October 2, 1964, he married Bonita Sue Ramey Wiatrowski, who died on May 6, 2016.

He was a long-time member of Luray Moose Lodge #1413 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #4264 in New Market.

He is survived by two sons, Kevin Wiatrowski and wife Jennifer of Staunton, and James “Eric” Wiatrowski of Luray; a daughter, Lara Spivey of Myrtle Beach, SC; a brother, George “Eddie” Wiatrowski of Winchester; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John C. Wiatrowski and Andrew “Pedro” Wiatrowski.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 19, at the Beahm’s Chapel Cemetery in Luray.
