Dot Kelly of Hampton, also known as Miss Virginia when she dons her tiara, spoke to a group of students at Stanley Elementary on Wednesday morning about healthy living habits.
After her presentation at the school, Kelly later met with local officials at the Stanley Town Hall before heading over to Shenandoah Elementary. She also visited Luray and Springfield elementary schools this week.
The Shenandoah University graduate not only spoke about healthy eating habits, but all the elements of a healthy lifestyle such as saying no to drugs and alcohol, as well as being kind and making friends.
“My challenge to you by the end of the week,” Miss Virginia told the students, “is for you to talk to a classmate and get to know them and walk away with one new friend.”
