August 17, 1989 — Shenandoah’s newest police chief, Charles Hammer should have no trouble at his latest job. That’s because “Charles” as he is commonly known in the town, previously served as chief.
The same goes for Luray’s newest chief Albert Judd also known as “Juddy” to Luray natives. Judd was appointed chief of the police force Monday night at the council’s regular meeting.
Hammer, 61, was appointed chief at the council’s regular meeting Aug. 8.
Judd, 57, is a 22- year veteran of Luray’s Police Department, having served as chief of police from May 1985 through December 1986.
