LURAY — The Page County Senior Center is now equipped with a brand-new HVAC system, thanks to the generosity of Mountain Valley Home Comfort. On Sept. 30, the local HVAC company completed the full replacement and installation of the center’s outdated heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system — completely free of charge.
The Senior Center, which serves as a crucial gathering place for the elderly in the community, had been struggling with an aging HVAC system that was no longer reliable, causing concerns as colder weather approached. When the center issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking bids for the replacement, Valley Mountain Home Comfort responded with an extraordinary offer — to cover the entire cost of the system and its installation at no expense to the center.
“We’re so happy to have been able to give back to the community in this way,” said Glen Turner, owner of Valley Mountain Home Comfort. “The Senior Center provides invaluable services to our older adults, and we knew how important it is for them to have a comfortable and safe environment, especially as colder weather approaches.”
The new HVAC system was installed on Sept. 30, ensuring that the center is now fully equipped to provide a comfortable atmosphere for its visitors throughout the year. The energy-efficient system will not only provide consistent heating and cooling, but it will also help the center reduce its utility costs over time.
For the Senior Center, this donation comes as a tremendous relief.
“We are beyond grateful to Mountain Valley Home Comfort for their generosity,” said Jimmy Roberts, Seniors First Executive Director. “Replacing the HVAC system came as a complete surprise and was simply not in the budget. Now, thanks to this donation, the need is met and our seniors are comfortable no matter the season.”
The installation took place smoothly with minimal disruption to the center’s daily activities, and the new system is already in operation, providing much-needed comfort to staff, visitors, and volunteers alike.
Valley Mountain Home Comfort’s act of kindness highlights their deep commitment to supporting the local
community, further solidifying their reputation as a trusted, community-focused business. The timely installation ensures that the Senior Center can continue to offer its vital services to the elderly in Page County, all while maintaining a comfortable, safe environment.
The Page County Senior Center is located at 10 Second Street in Luray.
