LURAY, March 29 — The Page County S.A.L.T Council will host the 19th annual Page County TRIAD Safety & Crime Prevention Senior Conference from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2 at Rileyville Baptist Church.
Each year, the S.A.L.T (Seniors and Law Enforcement Together) Council hosts this conference to provide valuable information to the senior population. It addresses current crimes occurring in Page County and how to safeguard seniors from becoming a victim. The conference also highlights community resources and how to access them. Morning refreshments and a hot lunch will be provided. There is no cost to attend.
The S.A.L.T Council is a non-profit group formed through a TRIAD grant more than 15 years ago. Although the grant is no longer available, S.A.L.T continues to thrive and serve Page County. Their mission is: “commitment to improving the quality of life for our seniors by enhancing their health, safety and security through communications, education and outreach.”
