July 20, 1983 — The Page County Board of Supervisors will be asked next month to appoint a representative to a task force studying a “regional jail concept” for the northern Shenandoah Valley. Pat Flegal, the present coordinator of a prisoner exchange program among communities in the Lord Fairfax Planning District, will discuss the proposed task force with supervisors, according to county administrator E. “Buddy” Burge.

Burge said it is “too early” to determine if a regional jail serving the Lord Fairfax District would have advantages for Page County. Page Supervisors have said it would be too expensive to provide segregated facilities with county funds alone.
