Age 92, Luray, Va.
Richard Edward Poole, 92, of Luray, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Winchester Medical Center.
He was born on Feb. 27, 1929, in Alexandria and was a son of the late Charles Edward Poole and Inez Ludlow Poole.
Richard was a veteran of the Untied States Army and worked for the Pentagon for 30 years as an electrician.
On Jan. 6, 1950, he married Betty June Morris Poole, who died on March 23, 2009.
He is survived by a daughter, Vickie Wilson and husband Randy of Luray; a son, Michael Poole and wife Peggi of Amissville; a sister, Janet Dickerson of Washington; and three grandsons, Jason Poole and wife Lori of Warrenton, Mark Wilson and wife Susan of Luray, and Matthew Wilson and companion Thomas Curry of Jacksonville, Fla.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Hall.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Luray Pentecostal Church by the Rev. Daniel D. Herring.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
