March 10, 1911 — A stable on the Carvell place, owned by Mr. Benton Keyser, was burned last Wednesday. A little fodder and some hay were destroyed. The building was used to store “long fed” in. How the fire started is a mystery. 

Wild geese continue their gay flight northward. Several big flocks were seen last week — one by Mr. Keyser Finnell that numbered 72. 

The public school up at Big Spring works like a charm. This is one of the biggest schools in Springfield District, and the patrons speak in highest praise of the teacher, Miss Lily Moyer. 

Mr. Joseph M. Huffman, who was taken seriously ill last Friday night, is somewhat better at this writing, we are glad to state. He is being attended by Dr. E.G. Brumback. 

Mr. Will Hill has the lumber on the ground for a new dwelling house. 

Mr. Leslie Philips is home from school. He has a nice case of mumps.
