At a time when public events can be unpredictable, the recent rally held on Oct.28th for Abigail Spanberger at the Stanley Fire Hall stood out for one key reason — how safe and secure it felt. Thanks to the dedicated work of our local police officers and public safety teams, hundreds of attendees were able to gather, listen and participate in a spirited event that showcased democracy at its best.
More than two hundred people came together to hear Abigail Spanberger, who spoke passionately about her priorities for Virginia — strengthening the economy, improving schools, expanding access to healthcare, and addressing challenges within the federal government.
This event marked one of the largest and most significant political gatherings in Page County’s recent history. In a time of division and uncertainty, the community came out in force to support dialogue, engagement, and civic participation — all made possible by the professionalism and presence of local law enforcement ensuring everyone’s safety.
The Page County Democratic Committee (PCDC) had been working for over a year and a half to bring Ms. Spanberger to our community, and we are proud that out of all the rural counties across Virginia, she chose Page County as a stop on her final campaign tour.
To our police officers, fire personnel, and volunteers who ensured a secure and successful event — thank you for protecting not just our safety, but our shared right to gather, listen, and be heard.
