April 19, 1966 — Luther D. Bradley, of Stanley, has been awarded the Department of Interior citation for commendable service, Superintendent R.Taylor Hoskins of Shenandoah National Park announced this week.
A bronze medal, indicative of the citation, was presented to Bradley at a ceremony conducted at Park headquarters. Bradley retired from Shenandoah last December. He was carpenter foreman at the time.
Bradley was employed at Shenandoah in 1941, serving intermittently until 1942. He returned to the Park in a permanent capacity in 1947 and held positions as truck driver, laborer lead man, and maintenance before being promoted carpenter in 1958. He was promoted to the foreman position in 1963.
