Tigers ready to open season

March 30, 1961 — The Stanley High School Tigers open high school baseball for the 1961 season, Saturday afternoon, April 1, when they will entertain the Stonewall Jackson Generals in a 3 o’clock clash at the VFW ballpark in Stanley.

The Tigers starting lineup will probably have Roger Baker behind the plate and Allen Greene on the mound. The infield will open with Danny Price on first, George Brubaker on second, Donnie Wilson at short and Jackie Shuler on third. In the outfield it will be Robert Caton in right, Jerry Stillwell in center and Beverly Breeden, Gerald Gochenour or Jerry Leake in left.
