LURAY TOWN COUNCIL

PROPOSED ISSUANCE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND

NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to § 15.2-2606 of the Code of Virginia, as amended, that Luray’s Town Council shall hold a public hearing on June 9, 2025 at 7 p.m. The public hearing shall be conducted in the Luray Town Council Chambers located at 45 East Main Street in the Town of Luray, Virginia.

Public comment may also be submitted until 12:00 p.m. on June 9, 2025, through any of the following means: Email: bchrisman@townofluray.com; Mail: Luray Town Council, Attention: Bryan Chrisman, Post Office Box 629, Luray, Virginia, 22835; Hand delivery: Place in the exterior DROP BOX in the alcove located at the front of the Town’s offices facing Main Street; or Phone: (540)743-5511. All comments must include the commentor’s name and address to be read aloud at the hearing. This hearing will be live-streamed on the Town’s Facebook Live page. All normal Rules of Procedure will be followed.

The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public comment concerning the proposed issuance by the Town of Luray, Virginia, of a general obligation bond in the estimated maximum amount of $1,600,000 (the “Bond”). The proceeds of the Bond will be used to finance the construction, design, engineering, and other costs, including costs of issuance and legal expenses, of the following improvements to the Town’s wastewater treatment infrastructure:

(1) Replacement of sludge processing equipment and UV light disinfection equipment;
(2) Lining of the Phase 2 Section of the Hawksbill Creek sewer trunkline main;
(3) Lining of the impacted sewer manholes in Phases 1 and 2 of the Hawksbill Creek
trunkline main; and
(4) Other ancillary or incidental projects.
