
STAUNTON — The following is a list of highway work that may affect traffic in the Staunton transportation district during the coming weeks.
The Staunton District consists of 11 counties from the Alleghany Highlands to the northern Shenandoah Valley: Alleghany, Bath, Rockbridge, Highland, Augusta, Rockingham, Page, Shenandoah, Frederick, Clarke and Warren.
Scheduled work is subject to change due to inclement weather and material supplies. Motorists are advised to watch for slow-moving tractors during mowing operations. When traveling through a work zone, be alert to periodic changes in traffic patterns and lane closures.
*NEW* Route 211 (Lee Highway) – Eastbound and westbound overnight alternating lane closures between Route 644 (Big Oak Road) and Northcott Drive for signal inspections, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday nights.
*NEW* Route 340 (Fourth Street, town of Shenandoah) – Overnight alternating lane closures near intersection with Maryland Avenue for traffic signal inspections, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday nights.
Various roads – Mobile traffic control for mowing operations. Flagger traffic control for pipe replacement, ditch work, tree removal, shoulder repairs, pavement patching and brush cutting, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays.
SECONDARY ROADS
*NEW* Route 602 (Maryland Avenue, Shenandoah) – Flagger traffic control near Rockingham County line for inspection of bridge over South Fork Shenandoah River, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday.
*NEW* Route 648 (Sandy Hook Road) – Flagger traffic control between Route 340 and Route 654 (Almond Drive/Hook Hill Road) for pole replacement, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
*NEW* Route 1989 (Reservoir Avenue, Luray) – Flagger traffic control between Route 211 Business (Main Street) and Route 654 (Almond Drive/Hook Hill Road) for pole replacement, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
