WINCHESTER, Nov. 15 — Valley Health Foundations recognized Page Memorial Hospital (PMH) Foundation Board Chairman Bill Dudley as its 2024 Distinguished Volunteer during a National Philanthropy Day celebration last month at the George Washington Hotel in Winchester.
The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), VA Tri-State Chapter, hosted the regional event to mark the national celebration. The event honors community volunteers and philanthropists who tirelessly support local nonprofits through their time, talent, and resources.
Valley Health Foundations, as a member of AFP, chose to nominate and celebrate Dudley, who has served on the board of the Page Memorial Hospital Foundation since 2011 and helped with the successful Grow With Us capital campaign for a new hospital. The Luray Realtor is now helping to connect resources to create a trail for staff and community members on the PMH campus.
Nonprofits were asked to submit one word that describes their nominee — the word submitted by Valley Health Foundations on behalf of Bill Dudley was Samaritan.
“By definition, Bill is a Good Samaritan in so many ways — generously helping others without expecting anything in return,” stated Jenny Grooms, Executive Director of Valley Health Foundations. “He passionately advocates for causes and connects people to resources to better the community. Page Memorial is honored to have such a servant leader.”
