By Randy Arrington
LURAY, Aug. 20 — This week we sit down with a local basketball legend, Emilee Weakley, at her home north of Luray to reflect on her record-setting career in both high school and college. Not only did she finish Luray High School as the all-time leading scorer (boys or girls), but she also became the 4th highest in career scoring for girls basketball in the history of the Virginia High School League. The LHS alum then went on to lead NCAA Division II women’s basketball in scoring for three consecutive seasons at Frostburg State University. She set records in the Mountain East Conference and at FSU, while also graduating in three years with a 3.95 GPA.
(Page Valley Livin’ ~ Episode 82 was recorded Friday, Aug. 15, and aired Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025).
Coming up on Page Valley Livin’… we’ll be previewing the third annual Recovery Walk in Page County where addiction/recovery-based resources celebrate recovery and the movement happening in our community.
The aim and purpose of these videos is to provide more information about more things that make up the wonderful place we call the Page Valley of Virginia. Serious issues will be handled seriously, while lighter issues may offer more opportunity to have some fun. There is no theme or agenda other than promoting the Page Valley, and trying to better inform the people who both live here and those who love to visit.
