Todd Gilbert, a viable candidate for the Republican nomination for Governor of Virginia in 2029, takes a lowly Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney job 35 minutes over the Massanutten Mountain after Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney (and one-time substitute judge) W. Andrew Harding was fired without explanation?
Todd, a guy who raised $13,107,251 in the past seven years is going to take a barely six-figure job? https://www.vpap.org/committees/330964/republican-commonwealth-leadership-pac/. A guy who could have easily taken a million dollar lobbying job working for one of the biggest law firms in Richmond? A guy whose close billionaire buddy, Governor Glenn Youngkin, could have easily set him up in a lucrative position anywhere?
Might the Page County job have been arranged by Richard Cullen, Counselor to Governor Youngkin, who surely got Todd the nomination for U S. Attorney, as he surely got his son Tom and his son-in-law, Erik Seibert, appointed U.S. Attorneys (Tom went on to get a U.S. District Court judgeship), and who may have masterminded the 2005 Bush Administration cover-up of the roles of Marvin Bush and Governor Mark Warner in U.S. Attorney John Brownlee’s investigation of the Battle Creek Landfill?
Might Cullen and others want Todd inside the only office that may actually be able to prosecute these Deep State figures years after the statutes of limitations on most of the federal offenses expired?
I don’t claim to know the answer to any of the above questions. Having known and gotten along with Todd for the past 26 years, I think him ending up in the Page County Commonwealth Attorney’s office may be completely innocent.
Still, all the above questions should be answered. Or at least the Trump Justice Department should immediately release the Bush-Warner files just as Warner is demanding the release of similarly old Epstein files. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1Q9G7okepg/
Ask our leaders to release the Bush/Warner files: https://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/, https://www.justice.gov/doj/webform/your-message-department-justice, and https://cline.house.gov/contact/.

Mr. Pollack. “Might Cullen and others want Todd inside the only office that may actually be able to prosecute these Deep State figures years after the statutes of limitations on most of the federal offenses expired?”
As I understand it, the only federal crimes that have no statute of limitations, are those for which the penalty is death. Like treason against the US, for example. I hope we can find more that would apply.
Mr. Sanford,
The federal statutes of limitations don’t matter that much. The most important thing is for the people of Virginia and the United States to learn about this massive cover-up on the part of Republicans and Democrats 20 years ago.
But if the people believe there should be prosecutions, the investigation will almost certainly show numerous Virginia felonies for which their are no statutes of limitations.
Fortunately, if there is going to be prosecution in the Commonwealth of Virginia it will be done by fellow Marine and soon to be Page County Commonwealth’s Attorney Chapman Good.

LTC Pollack, Interesting. I found this link, an overview of statutes of limitations on state and federal crimes. It’s pretty scary actually. I say that to get people to read it. https://www.congress.gov/crs-product/RL31253#:~:text=Regardless%20of%20the%20applicable%20statute,the%20government%2C%20or%20DNA%20evidence.
It’s going to take a lot of digging to be able to go after people in state courts, I think, but good luck.
Mr. Sanford,
The only digging that’s required in this matter is the United States Department of Justice finding the 2001-2005 Bush-Warner investigation overseen by United States Attorney for the Western District of Virginia John L. Brownlee. That investigation found numerous violations of the federal code. Most of those violations will translate into state violations as well. So, no digging other than the finding of an existing completed investigation is necessary.
Best regards,
Brad Pollack
All. I think the discretion to do or not to do that operators of the US justice system have, is the weakest link holding it all together.
It could cause tilting at landfills to occur again…
