Age 81, Luray, Va.
William Loren Peters, 81, of Luray, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
He was born on April 17, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, and was a son of the late Curbey Peters and Florence Lundstadt Peters.
William was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1963-1967. From 1968-1998, he worked for the Association of American Railroads, retiring with 30 years of service. He and his wife moved to Luray in 2002.
On June 18, 1967, he married Susan Schultz Peters, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Sherri Miller and husband Tim of Luray; a brother, Bernard Peters and wife Patricia of Jackson, Michigan; two granddaughters, Kathryn Miller, and Ashley Painter and husband Dustin, all of Luray; two great-grandsons, Mason Keeler and Emmett Painter, both of Luray; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, at the Leaksville Christian Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leaksville Christian Church.
