LURAY, Oct. 4 — Members of a grand jury in Page County Circuit Court last week issued a true bill on a total of 38 indictments handed down Wednesday, October 4 on charges placed among 21 individuals.
Those indicted by the October 4 grand jury include:
• James Lee Smith III, of Champlain, Va., was indicted on two Class 5 felonies for abduction by force or intimidation and possession of a Schedule I/II drug; three Class 6 felonies for strangling with a wound or injury resulting, violent felony possession or transport of a weapon, and possession of a gun while in possession of a Schedule I/II drug; an unclassified felony for possession with intent to manufacture a Schedule I/II drug; and two Class 1 misdemeanors for the assault and battery of a family member, and damaging a phone line to prevent a 911 call. All of the offenses and an arrest occurred on June 21, 2023, according to court records. Smith is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11 to appoint counsel.
• Kenneth Robert Cornelius, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for abduction by force or intimidation, and a Class 1 misdemeanor for the assault and battery of a family member. Both offenses and an arrest occurred on June 17, 2023, according to court records. Cornelius is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11 to appoint counsel.
• David Eugene Armentrout, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on a Class 6 felony for the assault and battery of a family member – third or subsequent offense. The offense and an arrest occurred on July 24, 2023. Armentrout is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 15 for a hearing.
• Jacklyn Kay Beamer, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 4 felony for forgery of public records, and two Class 1 misdemeanors for identity theft (obtain ID to avoid arrest) and falsely identifying oneself to law enforcement. All three offenses occurred on Feb. 10, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest on July 21, 2023. Beamer is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9 for a hearing.
• Amy Sue Lam, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on an unclassified felony for entering a structure to commit assault and battery, and Class 1 misdemeanor for trespassing after being forbidden. Both offenses occurred on Feb. 2, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest for trespassing on the same date, and an arrest for the felony charge on Aug. 3, 2023. Lam is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11 for a hearing.
• Anthony Kent Smith, of Luray, Va., was indicted on an unclassified felony for entering a structure to commit assault and battery, a Class 5 felony for possession of burglary tools, and a Class 6 felony for the destruction of property (monument). All three offenses and an arrest occurred on July 15, 2023. Smith is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wwednesday, Oct. 11 for a hearing.
• Paul Gordon Norrell, of Harrisonburg, Va., was indicted on an unclassified felony for receiving advance pay (greater than $1,000) for construction work that was not done or completed. The offense occurred on Jan. 24, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest on March 30, 2023. Norrell is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8 for a hearing.
• James Arthur Hayes, of Annapolis, Md., was indicted on a Class 6 felony for extortion in writing. The offense occurred Jan. 16, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest on Jan. 26, 2023. Hayes is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024 for a trial.
• Angela Lea Flick, of Luray, Va., was indicted on two Class 5 felonies for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The first offense and an arrest occurred on March 10, 2023, according to court records, with the second offense and an arrest taking place on May 17, 2023. Flick is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 15 for a hearing.
• Christopher Scott Green, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug and a Class 1 misdemeanor for falsely identifying himself to law enforcement. The offenses and an arrest occurred on July 17, 2023, according to court records. Green is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16 for a hearing.
• Donald Wayne Buracker II, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug and an unclassified misdemeanor for failure to appear in court. The drug offense occurred on June 17, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest on June 22, 2023. The failure to appear occurred on July 17, 2023. Buracker is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11 for a hearing.
• Cayla Sue Austin, of Front Royal, Va., was indicted on a Class 6 felony for eluding or disregarding police, and a Class 1 misdemeanor for reckless driving. Both offenses and an arrest occurred on June 18, 2023, according to court records. Austin is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9 for a hearing.
• Jamie Jon Andrade, of Mount Jackson, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on April 23, 2023, according to court records. Andrade is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11 for a hearing.
• Amy Marie Campbell, of Luray, Va., was indicted on Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on May 5, 2023, according to court records. Campbell is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024 for a hearing.
• Jacob Owen Carrico, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on May 25, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest on July 5, 2023. Carrico is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11 for a hearing.
• David Wayne Parsell, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on May 16, 2023, according to court records. Parsell is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11 for a bond hearing. He is also scheduled for another hearing at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13.
• Alexander Trey Randall, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Aug. 21, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest on May 3, 2023. Randall is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1 for a hearing.
• Heather Renee Custer, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on April 12, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest on May 31, 2023. Custer is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 15 for a hearing.
• Tyler Marie Ennis, of Champlain, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on June 21, 2023, according to court records. Ennis is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6 for a hearing.
• Jason Bryan Marston, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on April 5, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest on April 6, 2023. Marston is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7 for a hearing.
• Sondra Renee Moyer, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on June 3, 2023, according to court records. Moyer is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11 for a hearing.
Grand jury hearings are held the first Wednesday of each month in Page County Circuit Court.
