Murder, abduction, forging bank notes and public records among September indictments

LURAY, Sept. 6 — Members of a grand jury in Page County Circuit Court last week issued a true bill on a total of 44 indictments handed down Wednesday, September 6 on charges placed among 17 individuals.

Those indicted by the September 6 grand jury include:

• Bobbie Jo Buracker, of Front Royal, Va., was indicted on a Class 3 felony for murder (non capital felony) and an unclassified felony for distributing or selling a Schedule I/II drug for profit. Both incidents occurred on March 12, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest date of Sept. 6, 2023. Buracker is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023 for a status hearing.

Brian Lee Caplinger, of Bridgewater, Va., received two direct indictments on a pair of Class 5 felonies for abduction by force or intimidation, and then was indicted by the grand jury on a third charge of abduction by force or intimidation, which was designated as a Class 6 felony. All three offenses occurred on Jan. 27, 2023, according to court records, with no arrest listed. Caplinger is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023 for a trial.

Jacklyn Kay Beamer, of Luray, Va., was indicted on three Class 5 felonies for possession of a Schedule I/II drug and a Class 6 felony for child abuse (disregard for life). All four incidents and an arrest occurred on June 17, 2023, according to court records. Beamer is scheduled to appear in court again at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023 for a status hearing.

Monica Ann Comer (a.k.a. “McCorkle” and “Gray”), of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 4 felony for forging coin and bank notes, an unclassified felony for obtaining money by false pretenses (greater than or equal to $1,000), a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug, and two Class 1 misdemeanors for identification theft (ID to defraud less than or equal to $1,000) and obtaining money by false pretenses (less than $1,000). The fraud-related charges occurred on March 29 and 30, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest date of Dec. 6, 2022. The drug charge occurred on Aug. 4, 2022, according to court reecords, with an arrest on Oct. 3, 2022. Comer is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20 for a status hearing. A trial has been scheduled for 9 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 11, 2023.

Jason Scott Alestock, (no address listed), was indicted on two Class 4 felonies for forging public records and five Class 1 misdemeanors for falsely identifying himself to law enforcement (two counts), pettit larceny (less than $1,000 – not from person), fleeing from law enforcement and driving after forfeiting license. The forgery charges and two misdemeanors (false ID/driving) stem from incidents on April 10, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest date of June 25, 2023. The other three misdemeanors (false ID, fleeing, larceny) and an arrest occurred on June 25, 2023. Alestock is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 16, 2023 for a status hearing.

AJ Richman, Stanley, Va., was indicted on two unclassified felonies for grand larceny (greater than or equal to $1,000) and possession of stolen property with intent to sell (greater than or equal to $1,000), as well as a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug and a Class 1 misdemeanor for entering property to do damage. On each of the four counts, Richman also received an additional unclassified misdemeanor for “bailee violation(s) related to pretrial motions.” The original charges stem from incidents on Feb. 23, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest on March 10, 2023. The four additional misdemeanor “violations” all occurred on Sept. 6, 2023. Richman is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2023 for a status hearing.

Jessica Renee Utley, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on two Class 6 felonies for child abuse (disregard of life), a Class 1 misdemeanor for driving after forfeiting license, and an unclassified misdemeanor for driving while intoxicated (second DWI – BAC greater than .02). The offenses and an arrest occurred on May 10, 2023, according to court records. Utley is scheduled to appear in court again at. 9 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023 for a status hearing.

• Donald Wayne Buracker II, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 6 felony for child abuse (disregard for life). The offense occurred on June 17, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest on June 22, 2023. Buracker is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023 for a trial.

• Trucker Lane Aleshire, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Feb. 10, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest on March 20, 2023. Aleshire is scheduled to appear in court again at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2023 for a status hearing.

• Stephanie Lee Taylor, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Jan. 6, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest on June 15, 2023. Taylor is scheduled to appear in court again at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023 for a hearing.

• Robert Preston Geisler III, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug and a Class 1 misdemeanor for shoplifting or altering merchandise (less than $1,000). The drug offense and an arrest occurred on Feb. 23, 2023, according to court records, while the shoplifting offense occurred on Jan. 5, 2023 with the same arrest date. No information was available on Geisler’s future court dates.

• Jerry Elwood Petefish III, of Luray, Va., was indicted on an unclassified felony for possession with intent to manufacture a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on May 28, 2023, according to court records. Petefish is scheduled to appear in court again at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023 for a hearing.

• Rose Mary Moomaw, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on May 10, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest on May 11, 2023. Moomaw is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023, for a status hearing.

• Tyler Garrett Printz, of Luray, Va., was indicted on Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on May 7, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest on June 21, 2023. Printz is scheduled to appear in court again at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023 for a hearing.

• Preston S. Purdie, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for failure to stop at the scene of an accident (greater than $1,000 in damage). The offense occurred on April 28, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest on May 4, 2023. Purdie is scheduled to appear in court again at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023 for a hearing.

• Joshua Lewis Pritchett, of Charlottesville, Va., was indicted on a Class 6 felony for a registration violation (not Tier III – second offense). The offense occurred on June 29, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest on July 12, 2023. Pritchett is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023 for a hearing.

• Micheal Todd Foltz, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on a Class 6 felony for failure to appear in court. The offense occurred on Aug. 9, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest on Sept. 7, 2023. Foltz is scheduled to appear in court again at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2023.

Grand jury hearings are held the first Wednesday of each month in Page County Circuit Court.
