Assault on law enforcement and family member, drug charges among May indictments

LURAY, May 3 — Members of a grand jury in Page County Circuit Court earlier this month issued a true bill on a total of 33 indictments handed down Wednesday, May 3 on charges placed among 23 individuals.

Those indicted by the May 3 grand jury include:

• David Lee Stroupe, of Mount Jackson, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug, a Class 6 felony for assault on a law enforcement officer or documented person, and two Class 1 misdemeanors for destruction of property with intent (valued at less than $1,000) and obstruction of justice / resiting arrest without force. All four offenses and an arrest occurred on Jan. 9, 2023, according to court records. Stroupe is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 22 for a hearing.

Jacob Allen Foltz, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 6 felony for assault and battery of a family member (third or subsequent offense). The offense and an arrest occurred on June 18, 2022, according to court records. Foltz was also indicted on a Class 1 misdemeanor for violating a protective order. That offense and an arrest occurred on June 26, 2022, according to court records. Foltz is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 14, 2023 for a hearing.

Daniel Tilden Day, of Luray, Va., was indicted on an unclassified felony for the distribution or sale for profit of a Schedule I/II drug, a Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug, and a Class 1 misdemeanor for resisting arrest or obstructing the legal process. The possession charge and an arrest occurred on Oct. 13, 2022, according to court records, while the distribution and obstruction charges and a second arrest occurred on Jan. 9, 2023. Day is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 for a hearing.

David Anthony Hilliards, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug and a Class 1 misdemeanor for substituting a urine sample (defraud). The drug offense and an arrest occurred on Dec. 1, 2022, according to court records. The offense to defraud occurred on Feb. 9, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest date of Feb. 23, 2023. During a May 10 hearing, Hilliards entered a guilty plea on both charges. He was sentenced to two years in the penitentiary (with two years suspended) and two years probation for the drug possession charge. For the charge to defraud, Hilliard received a 30-day jail sentence (with 30 days suspended) and two years of supervised probation.

Michael Scott Dallas, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on two Class 5 felonies for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offenses occurred on Jan. 8, 2023 and Jan. 11, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest date for both of Jan. 11, 2023. Dallas is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2023 for a hearing.

Robert James Pizza, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on two Class 5 felonies for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. Both offenses and an arrest occurred on Jan. 21, 2023, according to court records. Pizza is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2023 for a hearing.

Timothy Mark Schmoyer, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 6 felony for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and a Class 1 misdemeanor for driving while his license was revoked or suspended. Both offenses and an arrest occurred on Dec. 14, 2022, according to court records. Schmoyer is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 7, 2023 for a jury trial.

• James Michael Alger, of Stanley, Va. was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on Feb. 5, 2023, according to court records. Alger is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2023 for a hearing.

• Jessica Nicole Buracker, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Jan. 15, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest date of Jan. 17, 2023. Buracker is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2023 for a hearing.

• Vincent Ray Campbell, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Jan. 17, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest the next day on Jan. 18, 2023. Campbell is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2023 for a hearing.

• Jamie Marie Davis, of Luray, Va., was indicted on on a Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on Feb. 4, 2023, according to court records. Davis is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 for a hearing.

• Deborah Jean Eppard, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on March 13, 2023, according to court records. Eppard is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 for a hearing.

• Charles Patrick Fleenor, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Nov. 16, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest the next day on Nov. 17, 2022. Fleenor is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2023 for a hearing.

• Chelsey Dawn Goode, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The drug offense and an arrest occurred on Jan. 8, 2023, according to court records. Goode is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 22, 2023 for a hearing.

• Alexandra Nicole Griffith, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on Nov. 27, 2022, according to court records. Griffith is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 for a hearing.

• Eli Steven Lawson, of Penn Laird, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on Dec. 8, 2022, according to court records. Lawson is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2023 for a hearing.

• Travis Jordan Matics, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Feb. 28, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest on March 29, 2023. Matics is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 for a hearing.

• Lena Jeanette Mcalister, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on Sept. 9, 2022, according to court records. Mcalister is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 22, 2023 for a hearing.

Timothy Andrew Miller, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on July 13, 2022, according to court records. Miller is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 for a hearing.

• Daniel Scott Myers, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Dec. 30, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest date of Jan. 23, 2023. Myers is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023 for a jury trial.

• Derek Ray Runyon, of Rileyville, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Dec. 29, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest date of March 3, 2023. Runyon is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 for a hearing.

• Laura Page Sours, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on July 11, 2022, according to court records. Sours is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2023 for a hearing on pre-trial motions, with a jury trial set for 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023.

• Ricky Odell Thomas, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Jan. 5, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest on Jan. 12, 2023. Thomas is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 22, 2023 for a hearing.

Grand jury hearings are held the first Wednesday of each month in Page County Circuit Court.
