Horse profits

HISTORY-Lee highway builders

May 19, 1887 — Mr. Thos. L. Menifee, of Rileyville, is one of the most successful horse raisers in the county. His horses, too, always look as sleek and fat as moles, and never fail to bring the highest price on the market.

An illustration of the profit he makes at the business may be seen in the following. He has a mare now only 9 years old, from which he has sold within the last six years $650 worth of colts, and has yet two to sell.

No better profit can be made on anything than improved stock well raised, and we take pleasure in citing Mr. M.’s example.
