About 500 turn out for Shenandoah YMCA’s win over Elkton

September 15, 1911 — About 500 people turned out to witness the game of baseball on Wednesday between Elkton and the Shenandoah YMCA teams.

Again Shenandoah proved themselves too strong for Elkton, for out of the seven games played, Shenandoah has won five.

Printz pitched professional ball, and had his opponents at his mercy, striking out 18 men and allowing only four hits.

The score was 8 to 4.

Shenandoah still claims the championship of the valley, and is willing to meet all comers to defend the title.

The Shenandoah lineup was Koontz, Beaseley, Cunningham, Jenkins, Printz, Harris, Mayes, Cooke, Manning and Griffith.
