Allan Wayne Dovel, 85, of Luray, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026.
He was born on December 23, 1940, in Page County and was a son of the late Luther A. Dovel and Gloria Jean Painter Dovel.
On December 19, 1959, he married Virginia Elizabeth Housden Dovel, who died on March 22, 2019.
Allan was a member of the Shenandoah Moose Lodge, an outstanding mechanic and an avid Ford lover.
He is survived by his caregivers, Rose Long of Luray, and Brant Lam of Elkton; a God granddaughter, Ashley Lam of Harrisonburg; a great-grandson, Austin Dean of Harrisonburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Rae Dovel; two brothers, Tony Franklin Dovel and Bobby Lee Dovel; and two sisters, Darlene “Dixie” Mowbray and Carolyn Sue Ferrell.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, at the Shenandoah Assembly of God.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 26, at the church by Pastor Carter Dean. Burial will be in the Mount Lebanon Cemetery in Shenandoah.
Arrangements are being handled by the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, Va.
