Amenda Lee Wood, 84, of Shenandoah, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at her home. She was born December 31, 1941, in Shenandoah and was the daughter of the late Robert Lynwood and Marion Elizabeth Baugher Campbell.

On January 12, 1973, she married Floyd Ray Wood, who preceded her in death on June 25, 2010.

Amenda graduated with the last class of Shenandoah High School in 1961. She retired from Merck & Co. following many years of service. Menda was a dedicated member of Christ United Methodist Church where she was involved with the Young at Heart. She cherished her time spent playing cards, Bingo, and bowling with friend groups. 

Amenda is survived by her three children, Amy Gaskins, Grant Rinaca and wife, Meg, Heather Wood-Hiserman and husband, Matt; sister, Sharon Shenk and husband, Carlton; five grandchildren, Wesley Rinaca and wife, Erin, Lacey Rinaca, Kyle Rinaca, Paige Hiserman, Jake Hiserman; great-grandchild, Ellie Dalrymple; a brother-in-law, Gary Wood; a great-goddaughter, Rylee Rinaca; a nephew, Todd Shenk, and a niece, Shannon Lucas.

A memorial service will be conducted 5 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Christ United Methodist Church in Shenandoah with The Rev. Stephen Creech officiating. A meal will follow in the church social hall. 

Interment will be private at Elk Run Cemetery.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support shown by many during Menda’s illness and death.

Arrangements are being handled by the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton, Va.
