Dorothy Page Triplett Atwood, 96, of Rileyville, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
She was born on October 27, 1929, in Ranson, WV, and was a daughter of the late Raymond Triplett and Juanita Burner Triplett.
Dorothy worked in the cafeteria at Springfield Elementary School, retiring with 28 years of dedicated service. She was a member of the Page United Methodist Church.
On June 14, 1950, she married Ruben Lester Atwood, who died on October 14, 2004.
Dorothy is survived by a son, Ronald Page Atwood and wife Jeanette of Luray; a daughter, Peggy Jean Atwood Dorrough and husband Donnie of Rileyville; five grandchildren, Pamela Atwood and husband Joey of Rileyville, Luke Atwood and companion B.J. of Mount Clinton, Joshua Dorrough and wife Angela of Rileyville, Jeremy Dorrough and wife Jamie of Mechanicsville, and David Dorrough and wife Christa of Rileyville; and nine great-grandchildren, Dakota Alger, Madelyn Alger, Kendal Alger, Keegan Atwood, Aubrey Dorrough, Jaxen Dorrough, Dylan Dorrough, Emma Dorrough and Axel Dorrough.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James Triplett.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 2, at the Page United Methodist Church.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, at the church by Pastor John Stelzl. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Luray.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Page United Methodist Church.
Arrangements are being handled by the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, Va.
