Douglas Wayne Waters, 79, of Luray, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2026.
He was born on October 25, 1946, in Sperryville and was a son of the late William Douglas “Dutch” Waters and Katherine Irene Cornell Waters.
Douglas was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed his vintage Oliver tractors and the Page County Heritage Association. He loved his family and his devoted pets — two cats, Fluffer and BellBell, and his dog, Penny.
On December 6, 1968, he married Lois Alice Booth Waters, who survives.
In addition to his wife, Douglas is survived by two daughters, Alicia Waters of Luray, and Frances Waters and companion Tucker Jenkins of Stanley; a sister, Barbara Waters of Luray; a brother, Randol Waters of Tennessee; three grandchildren, Kenny Knowles, Aaliyah Waters and Kate Harris; and two great-grandchildren, Brianna Knowles and Baylor Patterson.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Halee Waters.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, at the Antioch Independent Bible Church in Luray.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Antioch Independent Bible Church Youth Fund, 319 S. Court St., Luray, VA 22835 (please write youth fund in the memo line).
Arrangements are being handled by the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, Va.
