Assault of officer, child abuse, drug charges among 31 indictments issued in September

LURAY, Sept. 7 — A Page County grand jury handed down a total of 31 indictments among 15 individuals during last Wednesday’s session in Page County Circuit Court.

Among those indicted during the Sept. 7 grand jury session include:

Michael Anthony Dodson, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on two felonies and four misdemeanors for a confrontation with police on June 1, 2021. Dodson was indicted on two Class 6 felonies, one for assault of a law enforcement officer and one for disarming a law enforcement officer of a stun gun. The grand jury also issued Indictments on four unclassified misdemeanors related to charges of intimidating a law enforcement officer, falsely pretending to be a law enforcement officer, trespassing, and falsely assuming another identity. The arrest date is the same as the date of all six alleged offenses, June 1, 2020, according to court records. Dodson is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 21 for a hearing.

Ashley Marie Myers, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on two Class 6 felonies for child abuse (disregard for life). The offense occurred on May 6, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest date of May 8, 2022. Myers is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14 for a hearing.

William Barry Phipps, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on two Class 5 felonies for possession of a Schedule I/II drug, as well as two misdemeanors for driving while his operator’s license was revoked or suspended. The offense and arrest date for one drug charge is Oct. 6, 2020, according to court records, while the second drug charge and one driving charge occurred on Nov. 17, 2020. The arrest and offense date of the second driving charge is April 5, 2021. Phipps is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19 for a hearing.

Samantha Dawn Runyon, of Luray, Va., was indicted on two Class 5 felonies for possession of a Schedule I/II drug, and an unclassified felony for possession with intent to manufacture a Schedule I/II drug. All three offenses occurred on June 10, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest date of June 11, 2022. Runyon is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 21 for a hearing.

Dorma Nicole Cameron, of Front Royal, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug and an unclassified felony for possession with intent to manufacture a Schedule I/II drug. Both offenses occurred on July 11, 2021, according to court records, with an arrest date of March 31, 2022. Cameron is scheduled to appear in court again at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5 for further proceedings.

Amy Jo Cash, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug and a Class 1 misdemeanor for unauthorized possession of drug paraphernalia. Both offenses occurred on Jan. 6, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest date of March 10, 2022. Cash is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 21 for a hearing.

• Dana Lynn Coleman, (a.k.a. – Dana Lynn Colman), of Luray, Va. was indicted on two Class 5 felonies for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. One offense occurred on Dec. 28, 2021, according to court records, while the other occurred on March 22, 2022. The arrest date for both offenses is March 22, 2022. Coleman is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5 for a hearing.

• Julie Ann Murphy, of Manassass and Stanardsville, Va., was indicted on two Class 5 felonies for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. One drug offense occurred on March 3, 2021, according to court records, with an arrest date of the same. The second drug offense occurred on March 29, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest date of May 19, 2022. Murphy is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19 for a hearing.

• Dakota Lane Whetzel, of Greenville, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug and an unclassified misdemeanor for falsely identifying himself. The misdemeanor charge and an arrest occurred on April 22, 2022, according to court records, while the drug charge and an arrest occurred on April 24, 2022. Whetzel is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 20 for a hearing.

• Vanessa Brooke Chrisman, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on May 5, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest date of May 10, 2022. Chrisman is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022 for a hearing.

• Derek Scott Jenkins, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on March 16, 2022, according to court records. Jenkins is scheduled to appear in court again at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25 for a status hearing.

• Michelle Lee Pence, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Jan. 15, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest date of Feb. 28, 2022. Pence is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022 for a hearing.

• Timothy Mark Schmoyer, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on July 7, 2022, according to court records. SchMoyer is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022 for a hearing.

• Geneva Misty-Dawn Sedmock, (a.k.a. – Geneva White), of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on April 4, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest date of April 5, 2022. Sedmock is scheduled to appear in court again at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26 for a trial.

• Teresa Sue Smith, of Elkton, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on Oct. 22, 2022, according to court records. A capias warrant was issued for Smith’s arrest on Sept. 7.
