Grand jury issues 33 indictments in June session, including sexual battery of minor

LURAY, June 1 — A Page County grand jury handed down 33 indictments among 17 individuals during its June session in Page County Circuit Court. The grand jury also issued three sealed indictments, which typically indicate an ongoing investigation.

Among those indicted during the June 1 grand jury session include:

Randall Joseph Merica, of Elkton, Va., was indicted on an unclassified felony for aggravated sexual battery of a victim under the age of 13. The offense occurred on Jan. 27, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest date of March 17, 2022. Merica is scheduled to return to court at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20 for further proceedings.

Scottie Ray Bonnell and Tiffany Ann Bonnell, of Luray, Va., were each indicted on a Class 6 felony for child abuse (disregard for life) and a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. All offenses and arrest of both took place on Feb. 16, 2022, according to court records. The Bonnells are both scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13 for pretrial motions.

Brandon Lee Miller, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of burglary tools, two Class 1 misdemeanors for entering a property to cause damage, two Class 1 misdemeanors for petit larceny of less than $1,000 (not from person), two Class 1 misdemeanors for destruction of property with intent (valued at less than $1,000), and two Class 1 misdemeanors for tampering with a vehicle. All nine offenses occurred on Feb. 2, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest date of Feb. 11, 2022. Miller is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29 for further proceedings.

Jeramey Scott Mullins, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 6 felony for the felony possession of a weapon (ammunition – not gun). The offense and an arrest occurred on Nov. 23, 2021, according to court records. A capias warrant has been issued for Mullins’ arrest.

Jeremiah Lewis Goode, of Prince George, Md., was indicted on a Class 6 felony for eluding or disregarding police, a Class 1 misdemeanor for falsely identifying himself to law enforcement, a Class 1 misdemeanor for driving while his license was revoked or suspended, and a Class 1 misdemeanor for having improper brakes on his vehicle. All four offenses occurred on March 5, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest date of May 4, 2022. Goode is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 24 for further proceedings.

Dravon Allen Bowman, of New Market, Va., was indicted on an unclassified felony for possession with intent to manufacture a Schedule I/II drug, and two Class 1 misdemeanors (direct indictments) for fleeing from law enforcement and driving while his license was revoked or suspended. All three offenses and an arrest took place on Feb. 18, 2022, according to court records. Bowman is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 13 for further proceedings.

• Toni Marie Costello, of Luray, Va. was indicted on two Class 5 felonies for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. One offense and an arrest occurred on March 1, 2022, according to court records, while the second offense and a second arrest occurred on March 22, 2022. Costello is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 13 for further proceedings.

• Hunter Chase Sibert, of Timberville, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on Feb. 18, 2022, according to court records. Sibert is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15 for further proceedings.

• Jessica Lee Hensley, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on April 14, 2021, according to court records. Hensley is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21 for further proceedings.

• April Morrison Breeden, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on Feb. 14, 2022, according to court records. Breeden is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 13 for further proceedings.

• Meredith Larkin Miller, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Oct. 22, 2021, according to court records, with an arrest date of Dec. 3, 2021. Miller is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21 for further proceedings.

• Christine Louise Sedmock, of Richmond, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Jan. 14, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest date of April 5, 2022. Sedmock is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 13 for further proceedings.

• Heather Renee Morris, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Dec. 18, 2021, according to court records, with an arrest date of March 3, 2022. Morris is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 13 for further proceedings.

• John David Sours, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on Dec. 17, 2021, according to court records. Sours is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29 for further proceedings.

• Haven Adelaide Azarkhish, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on May 8, 2022, according to court records. Azarkhish is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21 for a status hearing.

• William Anthony Brown Jr., of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Jan. 8, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest date of March 1, 2022. Brown is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29 for further proceedings.
