LURAY — Izzy Banegas has proven to be a true “Warrior” this season for Mount Carmel Christian Academy. The junior scored 22 of MCCA’s 41 points in a win over United Christian Academy on Jan. 23. Banegas also contributed five steals on defense.
“Being the oldest on her team, she carries the title ‘leader’ well,” head coach Page Comer said. “Whether it’s on or off the court, she uses her seniority in a positive light.”
