Below average rainfall, but near average snow seen across the Page Valley in December

Temperatures close to average; Year-end weather stats included for 2025

STANLEY — Total rainfall for the month of December in the Page Valley was 1.16 inches, or 1.64 inches below the December average of 2.80 inches. Measurable rain was recorded on eight days during the month. The 57-year average is nine days. Total snow for the month was 3.25 inches, with the 57-year average at 3.75 inches.

The wettest December on record was in 1985, with 7.26 inches of rain. The driest occurred in 1981 with only 0.74 inch of rain.

The 2025 rainfall total was 40.54 inches, or 0.38 inch above the 57-year average of 40.16 inches.

Temperatures for the month of December were near average. The average afternoon high temperature for the month was 47.1 degrees, or 0.3 degree above the December average high of 46.8 degrees. High temperatures for December climbed above the 60-degree mark on five days, the 50s on seven days, the 40s on 11 days and only into the 30s on eight days during the month. The high for the month was 66 degrees on Christmas Day, Dec. 25.

The warmest December on record was in 2015, where the average afternoon high was 57.4 degrees. The coldest December was in 1989, where the average afternoon high was only 32.6 degrees.

The average daily low temperature for the month was 27.5 degrees, or 1.8 degrees below the December average low of 29.3 degrees. Low temperatures for the month were down into the teens on four days, the 20s on 15 days, the 30s on nine days and the 40s on three days during the month. The low for the month was 10 degrees on Dec. 15.

The peak wind gust for the month was 50 mph recorded on Dec. 10.

No weather records were broken during December 2025.
