Big catch in the South Fork

Shenandoah river

October 22, 1965 — Danny Crist, 11, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Crist, of Luray, caught a huge carp in the Shenandoah River Saturday of last week.

The fish was 31 inches long and weighed 14 pounds.

Danny used a 10-pound testing line and a worm on a perch hook to make his fine catch.
