Age 81, Elkton, Va.
Bobby Allen Shifflett, 81, of Elkton went home to be with his Lord and Savior January 18, 2024 in Harrisonburg with his daughters by his side. Bobby was born May 22, 1942 in Harrisonburg and was the son of the late Zean Marshall and Nellie Ann Meadows Shifflett.
Bobby grew up on the Kite farm on Shenandoah Avenue in Elkton and was a graduate of Elkton High School. He was a Life Guard at Farmers Pool for several summers and loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed getting together with his brothers and sister, playing music and pool and won several tournaments over the years playing pool. He was an active member of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church near Elkton and was an electrician for over 39 years working for Dupont and the union. Bobby was a devoted husband, an amazing dad, granddad and loyal friend who will be missed by all those who loved him.
On January 11, 1964, he married the love of his life, Shirley (Morris) Shifflett who preceded him in death. Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina K. Shifflett; brothers, Alva Shifflett, Harvey Shifflett, Irvin Shifflett, Luther Shifflett; and a sister, Delma Jean Leigh.
Bobby is survived by his daughters, Dianna Dawn Baugher and husband, Scott of Elkton, Tara Beth Teter and husband, Brad of Grottoes; grandchildren, Josh Johnson and wife, Erica of Elkton; Zachary Teter of Grottoes, Alexis Teter May and husband, Dylan of Harrisonburg; a niece raised in the home, Tammy Yager and husband Randy of Shenandoah; a great-grandson (Brooks) on the way; numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
Bobby is at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton where friends may call. The casket will remain closed.
Rev. Adam Snow will conduct a graveside service 2 p.m., January 23, 2024 at Elk Run Cemetery in Elkton.
