Boundary dispute with Madison

Shenandoah NP entrance

February 6, 1964 — Williamson Watts, Madison County Commonwealth’s Attorney, is expected to appear in Page County Circuit Court Feb. 13, to ask the court to name five commissioners from Page to meet with five from Madison County to settle a dispute over the boundary line between the two counties in Shenandoah National Park and the tax rights to some park facilities.

The dispute has been tossed about for months, and this past week photostatic copies of the request to Madison County for commissioners and of the order in Madison County granting the request were filed in the Page County Clerk’s Office, although no official request was made.
